Such as marketing, sales, etc. 

He/she not only discusses issues related to IT. But also helps them in finding better solutions for non-IT-related problems.

What Is A CIO Responsible For?

As mentioned earlier, it is the CIO who leads an entire IT department of an organization. He/she not only develop strategies but also executes them to get things done in an organization smoothly. 

The CIO decides which technology should be used in an organization depending on various factors. Such as budget allocation, existing infrastructure, etc. 

The CIO also enforces various policies which are designed by the VP of Information Technology. Apart from this, the CIO is responsible for the proper implementation of various IT projects in an organization. 

He/she has to make sure that there are no glitches in the implementation process. 

A CIO is also responsible for providing consultation to various departments of the organization.
